All Progressive Congress in Oyo State slams Governor Makinde over worsening security The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, was criticized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday for allegedly embezzling public cash rather than building infrastructure and providing decent governance to the state’s residents. The party asked on the governor to take urgent action against the threat of armed robbers, kidnappers, and ritual murderers who are purportedly terrorizing people of Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, and other areas of the state in a statement released by its publicity secretary, Olawale Sadare. “The announcement of the award of contract for the rehabilitation of 35 km Iwo Road-Olodo-Lagun Road at a cost of N12.5 billion by the Oyo state government at a time when its counterparts in Osun awarded the reconstruction of the second stretch of the same road from Odo-Oba axis of Iwo to Osogbo, which measured 55 km and had more challenging terrain, for a sum of N11.3 billion” The statement reads It’s time to stop Governor Makinde from shoving phony and tainted democratic dividends down the throats of the helpless populace.
