Teenager Rob Traders With Toy Gun In Ogun State
Policemen in Ogun state arrested teenager and his accomplice that robbed traders with toy gun Chioma Okafor and Nweke Joshua, both 19 years old, have been detained by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly robbing shopkeepers in the state with toy pistols. The suspects were detained last Friday during an operation in Adesan, Mowe, in the state’s Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, according to a statement released on Sunday by SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state police public relations officer. The Divisional Police Officer of Mowe Division, SP Folake Afeniforo, immediately dispatched members of the So Safe Corps and members of the division’s patrol squad to the area where the two suspects were apprehended, according to Oyeyemi. “When they were searched, it was found that they had brought plastic firearms that looked just like real handguns to the store to commit the robbery. Nweke Joshua, 19, admitted to the police during questioning that Chioma Okafor had come up with the plan to carry out the heist so they could get some money. Oyeyemi said that Lanre Bankole, the state’s commissioner of police, gave the order to transfer the suspects to state criminal investigation departments for covert inquiry.
