Suspects Arrested With Human Skull In Oyo
Two men found with human skull in Oyo town Two suspects were detained by members of the Oyo Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps, after they were reportedly located in Oyo town with human skulls. The two accused, Alfa Basiru Bashit of Abu Compound, Oyo, and Ganiyu Maruf, a native of the Laguna family in Oyo town, were nearly lynched by locals of Ori-awo Yidi. The two accused, Alfa Basiru Bashit of Abu Compound, Oyo, and Ganiyu Maruf, a native of the Laguna family in Oyo town, were nearly lynched by locals of Ori-awo Yidi. Maruf said that shortly after giving them the skulls, Dauda was detained once more by SARS agents but was eventually freed after confessing to his crimes. In accordance with his confession, he fled to the village but came back a couple of months later after learning Baba Ato had been freed. Baba Ato allegedly passed away the evening after his release, though. The suspect described how, five days prior, they had hidden the skulls in various locations while he maintained watch over them to prevent theft. Unbeknownst to him, locals in the Ori-Awo neighborhood, where he lives, had been observing him policing the area where he had buried the skulls. Maruf and his companion were reportedly accosted by the informed locals when they traveled to Yida. Bashit acknowledged giving N15,000 toward the sum needed to purchase the skulls from Baba Ato, a member of Maruf’s family. Maruf said that he would attempt doing the money rituals for himself first because he had knowledge of them from his maternal grandpa and was going to do it for them.
