FG To Reopen Refinery In December
Old Port Harcourt refinery is set to open by December The Federal Government has reiterated its promise to reopen the Old Port Harcourt Refinery in River State by December 2022, according to Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva. At the conclusion of the Federal Executive Council meeting, which was held in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja under the chairmanship of Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), Sylva made this implication. He said that work is still being done on the compressed natural gas. Responding to inquiries on the progress of the nation’s refineries’ ongoing repairs, Sylva stated that the “old one” with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per day will be operational by the end of 2022. Refineries in Kaduna and Warri are also progressing. “We are making progress on the nation’s CNG development program to make sure that all the infrastructure, including the pumping stations and the conversion kits, are in place since such things must be done before the termination of the fuel subsidy. He said that the ministry is putting up great effort to get everything in place before the year is through.
