Oyo CP Seeks Peaceful Campaign In The State
Oyo State Commissioner Of Police met with stakeholders Prior to the 2023 general election, Oyo State’s Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, met with leaders of vigilante organizations, hunting clubs, and other stakeholders to solicit support for nonviolent campaigning. This was said in a statement issued by SP Adewale Osifeso, the command’s spokesperson, on Friday in Ibadan. William clarified that the meeting’s other goals included fostering a better working environment and deciding on a shared course as the election campaign got underway. The commissioner commended the security organizations for working with the police and other security services to achieve real success. He urged them to regularly assess their hiring practices by carrying out sufficient background checks on prospective and current employees. Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Aare Mogaji Ariori thanked the police commissioner for setting up the meeting and pledged to strengthen their current working relationship.
