Lagos state Governor made the salary increase announcement The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stated that his government is striving to raise pay for those employed by the state’s public service. On Tuesday, October 4, Sanwo-Olu announced this to the staff at the state secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja. He went on: “We are able to accomplish this. In Nigeria, Lagos sets the pace while the rest lag. We are once again in the lead in compensation increases. “We’re going to pay wages in accordance with the catchphrase “Buga.” We won’t hold off till the federal government raises the minimum wage. “The process has started. I can guarantee that it will be prepared for use by the beginning of the next year. We don’t want to wait for labour unions to demand ransom before taking the necessary action. The governor also committed to paying any backlog pensions owed to employees by the end of October. “I want to reassure you that all the minor unpaid pension backlogs will be resolved this week and paid before the end of October,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
