The information also stated that when her friend learned about the disappearance of a baby from ATBUTH, which had been covered by several media channels, she raised the alarm and informed local security agents about the situation. The infant and the thief were discovered during a check of the neighborhood by security agents from the DSS after they received a tip. The thief was apprehended and is presently being questioned by the DSS. The suspect, who has never given birth, admitted to stealing the child in her confession because her partner and other members of the husband’s family tease her. The baby’s mother, Bilkisu Alhassan, said that the lady told her just before the child was taken that the infant was not receiving enough breast milk and needed to be supplied with milk laced with additional nutrients. The doctor in the children’s ward allegedly promised to get the milk and other baby meals for her, and the lady reportedly gave her the assurance that this. “I informed her that the father had bought the foods for them,” Bilikisu Alhassan said, “but she responded that it was not those ones, they required something better.” She questioned me about which baby was the senior, so I pointed to Ibrahim, and she extended her hands to pick him up. At the handover of the stolen infant to the mother on Tuesday in Bauchi, Dr. Haruna Liman, the chairman of the ATBUTH’s medical advisory committee, said that the twin baby was taken from the mother at the hospital eight days after she gave birth to a pair of twins. He claims, “The baby was kidnapped from the mother who is undergoing treatment in the hospital on September 21, 2022 around 4:30 pm. Around 1:00 am on September 27, the infant boy was recovered and found to be healthy and unharmed. “We thank Allah and the hospital’s internal security, the Department of Security Services (DSS) Police, and other security services for their efforts in retrieving the infant,” he added.
