Two daughters, father and their relation reportedly ate the Cassava Flour aka Amala The strange death of four family members who were allegedly eating the meal known as “Amala” had the residents of Mopa town in the Mopa-Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State go into mourning. In a short period of time between Friday, September 30, and Sunday, October 2, the dead passed away. The family patriarch, Pa. Motilewa, two children, and a young woman who is rumored to be a relative were all killed. A teacher in the town with a National Certificate of Education, Motun was one of the deceased daughters.  But miraculously, the mother lived. Residents of the town and the entire neighborhood are in sorrow, terror, and uncertainty as a result of the incident, and many are pressing for an inquiry into the family members’ deaths. It was learned that the family used the leftover cassava flour from which they had previously cooked and consumed “Fufu” to make the “Amala” meal.  The processed shafts were reportedly stretched out in the sun for a few days to dry. They utilized the soft powder created from the dried flakes to make “Amala,” which they consumed on Thursday night before going to bed. The victims reportedly became ill over night, and efforts were made to stabilize them, according to an eyewitness.  Sadly, the family’s youngest member went away on Friday, and the relative who was staying with the family soon after died on Saturday. The rest were sent to the well regarded ECWA Hospital in Egbe after the abrupt passing for better medical care. Sadly, around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Motun, the oldest of the daughters, passed away.  Later on Sunday, the father passed away as well. The mother, known only as Molomo, was still alive and being closely monitored at the time this article was filed. According to reports, community members fear foul play was involved in the unexpected death and have postponed the funeral in order to conduct thorough investigations to determine what caused their deaths. “We’re stunned. ...
