NCAA is asking Lawmakers for free hand to punish BBNaija and Crossdressers in Nigeria The Big Brother Naija (BBN) producers are being pursued by the National Council for Art and Culture (NCAA), which has also asked members of the House of Representatives to provide the organisation the authority to detain and prosecute crossdressers in the nation. Segun Runsewe, the director general of the council, made the request on October 4 during an inquiry by an ad hoc committee of the House. A measure in the House would alter Nigeria’s Same-Sex (Prohibition) Act to outlaw transvestism.  The primary act’s sections 4 and 5 are the subject of the modification, which is proposed by Muda Umar (APC, Bauchi). The proposed law states that “A person engaged in cross-dressing is guilty of an offence and subject to a fine of five hundred thousand naira or a six-month term of imprisonment.” Runsewe, who has never concealed his dislike of crossdressers, especially Bobrisky, claimed in a statement to the parliamentarians that he had instructed the police to stop the birthday celebration that Bobrisky had planned for 2019.  Runsewe said that he had previously denounced the nudity displayed in the BBNaija home. “I am the first one to notify Big Brother Nigeria to NBC because they were having problems,”…  Big Brother (organisers) tried to contact me after I raised the issue, and I responded by telling them not to bring nudity and other aspects of naked culture to Nigeria since our culture is rich and respects the sovereignty of our nation. Alex Egbonna (PDP, Cross-River), a politician, expressed dissatisfaction that the intervention had not put a halt to the show’s exhibition of nudeness. “That is Nigeria’s issue: you start something, but you don’t finish it.  They were remained nude, nevertheless, throughout the previous incident.  I’m suggesting that the thing you started—taking them everywhere you took them—has not come to an end.  They continue to act in the same manner.  They ought to have learned.  The Nigerian factor is the only problem with what you’ve started, he said....
