I Promise To Support You For President In 2027 – Atiku To Wike

Nyesom Wike and the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku had a closed door meeting last night Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, and Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state, met behind closed doors last night in Abuja to work out their issues. According to The Nation, at the meeting, Atiku promised to back Wike’s candidacy for the presidency in 2027 provided Wike agreed to put down his sword and back him (Atiku) in the 2023 election. Since June, when the former vice president selected Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over Wike as his running partner, the couple and their supporters have been engaged in a public spat. Previous attempts to make peace between them had been fruitless.  Even though the governor of Rivers State and his followers threatened to boycott Atiku’s presidential bid, it seemed as though Wike had made the decision to disregard him and continued with his campaign. A significant rift has developed within the PDP as a result of Wike’s support from five of the 11 state governors elected on its platform. Atiku met with Wike last night in a new attempt to mend their disagreements, and he persuaded Wike’s team to join the PDP campaign train.  The PDP presidential candidate reportedly pledged to support Wike for the presidency in 2027, according to sources close to the meeting. Due to prior pledge violations, Wike was reportedly uncommitted to Atiku.  According to reports, the governor promised to consult his team before returning to Atiku. According to sources at the meeting, Wike was not overly enthusiastic about the 2027 possibility since Atiku had made a similar promise to the Igbo during a meeting with PDP stakeholders in Enugu earlier this week. a witness to the events who spoke to the magazine said; “Atiku sent out an olive branch to Wike once again.  He begged the governor to consider the wider perspective of winning the election in 2023....

Tinubu Absent At Signing Of Presidential Candidates Peace Pact

Asiwaju Tinubu of APC not physically present at the peace pact Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ nominee for president, was not present on Thursday when the now-usual peace accord was signed, unlike the nominees of other major parties. However, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, and others were present at the signing, in addition to Kashim Shettima, Tinubu’s running partner. According to news sources, the Independent National Electoral Commission revealed the final list of candidates for the presidential, senatorial, and federal seats on September 21, 2022, in accordance with the election schedule for 2023 that had been published earlier in the year. Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner in Charge of Voters’ Education for INEC, who verified this in a statement, also put the list on its website. There were 36 presidential contenders on the list, representing 18 different political parties.  At the federal level, 469 legislative slots (senatorial and federal constituencies) will be filled by a total of 4,223 candidates.

Ayu Must Resign – Seyi Makinde

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde demands the resignation of Ayu The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has asked for the resignation of the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, in order for the people of the South to have a sense of belonging in the party. Makinde made this request during a meeting of South-West PDP stakeholders with the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The Oyo State Governor, along with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has been battling the PDP over the party’s National Chairman and presidential candidate, both of whom are from the North. Atiku Names Another Campaign Spokesman

Atiku has announced another spokesman for his campaign Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, has chosen Charles Aniagwu, the commissioner for information for the Delta State, to lead his presidential campaign in the 2023 election. Aniagwu will represent the former Vice President’s campaign alongside Daniel Bwala and Dino Melaye. Paul Ibe, Atiku’s communications adviser, noted in a statement on Tuesday that Aniagwu’s appointment is effective right away. He explained that the newly appointed spokesperson will be in charge of informing the people of developments in the presidential campaign. Aniagwu had more than twenty years of experience in the broadcast industry before to entering politics.
