I Will Remove Petrol Subsidy – Tinubu Insists

APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu insisted on removing the controversial petrol subsidy if elected in 2023 The APC presidential candidate and former Lagos state Governor, Asiwaju Tinubu stated on Thursday that the plan must be ended, regardless of how long people resist the removal of the petrol subsidy on PMS. When asked about the urgent problem of gasoline subsidies and what he would do as president of Nigeria, Tinubu made a bold commitment to make decisions that would revive the economy, one of which would be a decisive decision on fuel subsidies. Court Sacks Governor Oyetola As APC Candidate In Last Election

Osun state Governor and hid deputy sacked by Federal High Court The nomination of Governor Isiaka Oyetola and his running mate for the position of deputy governor, Benedict Alabi, has been declared invalid by the Federal High Court in Abuja on the grounds that Governor Mai Mala Buni, who submitted their names to INEC, violated Section 183 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Section 82(3) of the Electoral Act 2022. The decision in a lawsuit brought by party member Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN) contesting the nomination and sponsorship of Governor Isiaka Oyetola and his deputy as the properly nominated candidates of the All Progressives Congress was made on Friday, September 30. (APC). The plaintiff did not have the locus to bring the case, and the claim was time-barred, among other arguments made by Mr. Kunle Adegoke (SAN), the attorney for Governor Isiaka Oyetola, in disputing the litigation’s competence. Ogunwumiju, who was joined by Muyiwa Atoyebi SAN and Ademola Abimbola, made the counterargument that the Plaintiff had lawfully filed the lawsuit in accordance with Section 285(14)(c) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999. (as amended). The nomination of Governor Isiaka Oyetola and Benedict Alabi by the APC was ruled to be invalid by the court’s presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite, who also delivered the ruling in the case. The court further ruled that while Governor Mai Mala Buni simultaneously held the posts of Governor of Yo e State and Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the APC, he violated the provisions of Section 183 of the Constitution. The court ruled that Governor Mai Mala Buni’s actions, including sending the names of Governor Isiaka Oyetola and Governor Benedict Alabi to INEC, constituted a nullity in law. Adegoke, the governor’s attorney, said his group will challenge the ruling.

Court Nullifies APC Governorship Primary In Taraba

Court has cancelled primary election of All Progressive Congress In Taraba On Tuesday, September 20, the Federal High Court in Jalingo, headed by Justice Simon Amobeda, declared the governorship primary election that resulted in Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the APC’s candidate for the 2023 election invalid. The decision was made in a lawsuit brought by Chief David Kente, a candidate for governor for the ruling party. Justice Amobeda requested that a new governorship primary be held in the state within 14 days and that the Independent National Electoral Commission cease recognizing Bwacha as a candidate right once. The court also ordered Bwacha to stop representing himself as the APC’s candidate for governor of Taraba state.

APC Chairman Resigns

Ruling party in Nigeria, All Progressive Party, Charman resigns Ibrahim Bilal, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Adamawa state, has finally resigned from office, just a few weeks after his supposed impeachment. Bilal, who was purportedly impeached by several members of the party’s state working committee, was reinstated by a court. His resignation was announced in a letter dated September 13, 2022, allegedly from the office of the APC’s National Vice Chairman, North East, Salihu Mustapha. Salihu stated that Samaila Tadawus, Bilal’s deputy, will take over as acting chairman of the APC pending approval by the APC National Working Committee.

Makinde, INEC Plot To Frustrate Voters – Oyo APC

The opposition party in Oyo state alleges Governor Makinde to disrupt election The People’s Democratic Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission were allegedly planning to move certain polling places in order to annoy voters on election day, according to the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State on Sunday.
