Tegbe vs Alli - Oyo South

Concrete evidence uncovered after Oyo South Senatorial election amidst of over voting and many other irregularities

Based on concrete evidence gathered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, the ruling party has described the February 25 election result in Oyo South Senatorial district where INEC declared Barrister Sharafadeen Alli of All Progressives Congress (APC) winner ahead of Mogaji Joseph Tegbe of PDP as a temporary victory.

The Oyo South Senatorial District election result was the mother of all electoral fraud in the senatorial district’s history, according to the ruling PDP in the state, which announced this after taking custody of and carefully studying details of events from all polling units and wards within the district.

A press statement by the Publicity Secretary of PDP in Oyo state, Akeem Olatunji on Saturday evening stressed that apart from the fact that INEC failed to transmit election results electronically as enshrined and mandated by the Amended Electoral Act, there were concrete evidence of electoral fraud by the APC.

Olatunji declared that Tegbe’s mandate would be reclaimed from Alli in court while urging party members and supporters to remain calm amidst the controversies still surrounding the last election.

“In the meantime, all PDP loyalists and members in the state should remain calm in the face of this broad day light election robbery because, APC will not be allowed to get away with this and we will ensure that Mogaji Tegbe’s mandate is reclaimed.”

Olatunji added

Meanwhile, Olatunji further explained that some polling units under Oyo South Senatorial District are yet to submit results. Emerging facts from the field clearly indicates that Mogaji Tegbe of PDP won last Saturday election convincingly but the electoral fraud perpetrated in broadday light in Ibadan North, Ido, Ibarapa and two other local governments have been uncovered and will be presented in court as hard evidences.
