Court has cancelled primary election of All Progressive Congress In Taraba
On Tuesday, September 20, the Federal High Court in Jalingo, headed by Justice Simon Amobeda, declared the governorship primary election that resulted in Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the APC’s candidate for the 2023 election invalid.
The decision was made in a lawsuit brought by Chief David Kente, a candidate for governor for the ruling party.
Justice Amobeda requested that a new governorship primary be held in the state within 14 days and that the Independent National Electoral Commission cease recognizing Bwacha as a candidate right once.
The court also ordered Bwacha to stop representing himself as the APC’s candidate for governor of Taraba state.
