House Of Rep Member, Hon Skimeh, escapes death after being attacked by thugs
Honourable Akeem Adeyemi, aka Skimeh son of Late Alaafin of Oyo and a two-term member of the House of Representatives, narrowly escaped death.
Some thugs who were allegedly working for the Chairman, Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System, PMS, Mukaila Lamidi, aka Auxiliary, attacked his convoy in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Buses belonging to the former Atiba Council chairman, known as Skimeh, and the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) senatorial candidate were vandalized during the incident.
The infamous thugs saw some of the buses with APC inscriptions at a well-known fuel station at Alakia junction.
They had just arrived from Ife where they had traveled for a family function.
The Auxiliary boys, who were at the location at the time with their principal, jumped on the road and began chasing the buses.
We were already in Ibadan. When we first noticed people heading in our direction, we had just arrived at the Jeje gas station. They yelled,
Theft, theft, theft, get them, hurt them, murder them… Before some of our people fled for safety, our drivers did their best.
As a result of several of our buses’ windscreens being vandalized, some of our people sustained injuries.
One of the passengers on the buses, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of attack, told Newsmen that
“several of our people got harmed in the process as the windscreens of some of our buses were vandalized in the process.”
Akeem Adeyemi told Newsmen that “all we should do is be thankful to God. We give God praise for our life.”
